Yesterday, I did some more exploring in the downtown area of BA. I walked to several plazas with monuments and in the process saw lots of interesting architecture. I ended the day with a walk through the botonical garden. I am enjoying the tropical foliage and even a few flowers considering it is now winter in BA.
Today, I explored a BA highlight. The Cementario de la Recoleta. A large above ground cementary filled with beautiful monuments and artwork to honor deceased. It seems like a strange concept at first-but was truly amazing and interesting.
In the afternoon, I explored the national art musuem. It was fun to view the work of Argentine artists even if I was challenged to read the accompanying documentation.
