Even without Bruce's help I've found several big trees in the city!
To your left is an Araucaria-related to the monkey puzzle tree and on your right is a tree known as a big rubber tree-the roots at the base are extensive and the crown provides lots of shade. There is a school field trip eating lunch around this one.
Tomorrow is the forestry field trip so I'm sure this is just the beginning of tree related posts :)
