We arrived in Buenos Aires yesterday. It was great to have Mariano meet us at the airport. We are learning to read menus and experiencing Argentine cuisine.
Today we explored the Cathedral and Casa de Gobierno (called the pink house) where the government meets.
The city was gearing up for the soccer game against Mexico-lots of flags flying and places to buy merchandise. On our way from the subway to our hotel we planned to buy some food to eat in our room during the game. As we walked along a main shopping street everything was closed because the game had started. Some shops were closed but the sales people were inside huddled around TVs. We finally found a small kiosk next to our hotel that was open and had chips and soda. Now that the game is over we hear lots of car horns and some fireworks.
Bruce and Mariano start teaching tomorrow and I'll explore further on my own.
